Richard Verwoest

Welcome to the Sierra Nevada Fine Firniture Makers Guild. My name is Richard Verwoest, and am one of the 6 founding "fathers". A few years ago, 6 of us got together and took on this new adventure. We wanted a guild, something direct, and focused on something we all have a passion for. And what is that you ask? Well, finely crafted, built and executed furniture of course.

So a little background on myself I suppose. I started my woodworking career as a child. My first project, I turned a block of wood into Swiss cheese. All my dad would let me use was a small hand drill. But boy did I bore some holes. Then, off to cub scouts. Luckily, I got to make a tool tote. From there, I was unstoppable. From boxes, to clocks, to cabinets and tables, I said "no" to nothing. Always gaining experiance and skills, and at times, some cash.
